1. Information We Collect

NewGearHub does not require user accounts or collect personal information directly. However, third-party services integrated into our website may collect certain data as described below.

2. Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

3. Amazon Affiliate Program

NewGearHub is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click on an Amazon affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We and our third-party partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixel tags, web beacons, and local storage) to recognize you, remember your preferences, and understand how you interact with our content.

Types of Cookies We Use

Essential / Functional Cookies. These are required for the website to function correctly and cannot be disabled without affecting your experience. They include:

  • Theme preference cookie โ€” remembers your light/dark mode selection across sessions
  • Session cookies โ€” maintain your browsing state as you navigate the site
  • Supabase authentication cookies โ€” enable real-time database features and secure API access

Analytics and Performance Cookies. We use Supabase and, in some cases, third-party analytics services to understand how visitors use our site. These cookies collect anonymized metrics such as pages visited, time spent on page, and referring domains. This data helps us improve content relevance and site performance. Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 90 days.

Affiliate Tracking Cookies. When you click an Amazon affiliate link, a cookie is set by Amazon's associate program to track the referral. This cookie is valid for 24 hours. If you complete a purchase within that window, a small commission may be earned at no additional cost to you. Amazon's cookie policy governs their data collection; refer to Amazon's Privacy Notice for details.

Advertising Cookies. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history and interests. Google may also use cross-device tracking to show you relevant ads across devices you've signed into with the same Google account. Information collected by Google cookies includes:

  • Pages visited and content consumed
  • Search queries and clicks on Google services
  • Device and browser type, unique device identifiers
  • Location data inferred from IP address

Third-Party Cookie Behavior

Google. Google AdSense sets cookies under Google's privacy policy. Google may partner with third-party publishers and advertisers to serve ads across the web. You can review and manage how Google uses data from partner sites and apps by visiting Google Ads Settings. To opt out of personalized advertising globally, you can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Amazon. Amazon Associates sets tracking cookies when you click an affiliate link. Amazon may also use pixels and local shared objects (LSOs) for frequency capping and conversion tracking. Amazon's data practices are governed by the Amazon Privacy Notice at amazon.com/privacy.

Supabase. Supabase cookies are used for authentication and realtime session management. Supabase, Inc. (based in San Francisco, CA) processes data under its own Privacy Policy. Supabase does not sell personal data to third parties. API logs containing IP addresses and request metadata are retained for 30 days for abuse monitoring.

How to Manage or Opt Out of Cookies

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies via their settings panel. You can also clear all cookies from your device at any time. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent some site features from working correctly.

Additionally, the Your Online Choices platform lets you opt out of many advertising cookies from multiple providers at once.

Data Retention

  • Essential / functional cookies: duration of browsing session, up to 1 year for theme preferences
  • Affiliate tracking cookies: 24 hours (Amazon Associates)
  • Advertising cookies (Google): up to 13 months from last activity
  • Analytics logs: 90 days (Supabase)
  • Supabase authentication tokens: 7 days, refreshed on activity
